Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans are open to the idea of getting Massimiliano Allegri after Sunday’s print edition of Italian media outlet Il Tempo, via Sport Witness, suggested he is in pole position to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
The pressure is growing on the Argentine following a difficult start to the season for Spurs, although he insists he has the full backing of chairman Daniel Levy as things stand, despite hugely disappointing performances against Bayern Munich and Brighton and Hove Albion in the previous week.
Meanwhile, Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juventus at the end of 2018/19 campaign, having won five consecutive Serie A titles during his latest spell with the Old Lady.
The fact he is proven at winning trophies is certainly a positive, given the north London outfit are without one since they lifted the League Cup in 2008.
While some Tottenham supporters below clearly don’t want to lose Pochettino, they seemingly wouldn’t mind if the former Southampton boss did leave and was replaced by the 52-year-old Italian.
One even went as far as saying they “would happily let Poch go if this is true”.
