Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that his club hope to tie up a deal to sign Denmark goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard from Norwegian club Aalesund in the next few weeks.
The 26-year-old is one of a number of keepers who have been linked with the Red Devils in recent times, as United plan for the likely retirement of Edwin van der Sar at the end of the season.
Ferguson stated:"It is not completed at the moment, but there has not been a hiccup either.
"It will probably happen in the next two or three weeks, but the announcement was a bit premature."
Lindegaard himself is clearly excited by the prospect of a move to Old Trafford, telling Ekstra Bladet:"Of course, it would be nice if it is sorted out.
"It is a big issue. It's about my future, but I don't feel too worried. I still have two years left on my contract, although that is of course Plan B.
"I have huge confidence in my own abilities and talent, whether it will be at Aalesund, Manchester United or somewhere else."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
