Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hailed Mason Greenwood as the "star boy" as the former Arsenal striker admitted his excitement at linking up with the English forward at Marseille. The 36-year-old forward, who previously spent the 2023–24 season with the French club, returns after parting ways with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah earlier this month. He left the Saudi club on a free transfer and has reportedly signed a new deal that keeps him at Marseille until the summer of 2027.

Aubameyang’s return is not just about unfinished business; it’s also about forming new partnerships. He is particularly excited to play alongside Greenwood, especially after the English forward enjoyed a sensational 2024–25 season, finishing as Ligue 1’s joint top scorer with 21 goals and sharing the honour with Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele.
WHAT AUBAMEYANG SAID
Speaking about Greenwood, Aubameyang was full of praise: "He's the star boy! He's very strong, very good. I really liked his season and now he's working even harder than last season. In Saudi Arabia, I had a teammate who had played with him in Spain and he told me he was a phenomenon. I'm happy he's with us."
