Tottenham Hotspur will look to return to winning ways when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.
Spurs have lost their last two in the league to Watford and Liverpool, and also suffered a 2-1 defeat at Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
There is no question that there is pressure on the capital side to return to winning ways, and defender Jan Vertonghen has been on Twitter discussing the match.
Harry Kane has worn the armband due to the recent absence of Hugo Lloris, but a number of Spurs fans have called for Vertonghen to be made captain.
A similar tweet from another player – perhaps Eric Dier – would have surely brought criticism from the frustrated Tottenham supporters.

However, Vertonghen – a 2012 arrival from Ajax – received messages of support from the fans ahead of what is a huge game at the Amex Stadium.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been calm and collected since arriving at Tottenham, but even the Argentine is showing signs of stress.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the club’s fans can be seen below:
